About us

I first discovered Cresswell in 2024, having fallen in love with Beadnell, further north, earlier in the year. As a self-certified beach-bum, it was love at first sight! Water so clear you can see your toes and miles upon miles of powdery sand that could rival a beach in the med. I made it my mission to spend more time in Northumberland with my young terrier pup, who is obsessed with beaches and moves at such a speed, we can be on the beach in 5 mins. I fell in love with the holiday home, aptly an ABI Ambleside (I also spend a lot of time in the Lake District) and love to welcome guests and share experiences. We hope that we have created a luxurious home away from home that you won't want to leave. You may even sulk, like me, all the way home!

Discover the beauty and diversity of the region

The Land of castles

The region is home to Alnwick, Bamburgh, Dunstanburgh, Lindisfarne and Walkworth Castles (and many more). Most are open to the public.

Gastronomy

Northumberland has some great places to eat and is fast becoming a foodie hotspot in the North. From pop-up barbecues on the beach, run by the Ship Inn at Newton-by-the-sea, to gastro pubs. If you love sea food, then look no further than Riley's Fish Shack at Tynemouth or The Potted Lobster at Bamburgh.  The region features too many amazing pubs to mention but one of our favourites is The Lord Crewe at Bamburgh. And dog friendly!!!!!

Leisure time

Sip a Pilgrim coffee and immerse yourself in the history of Lindisfarne or chat with a Lady in the poison garden at Alnwick.  You might even spot some Orkas, off Beadnell Bay, on their travels!

Beaches

You are spoiled for choice!

Cresswell beach is nothing short of spectacular; golden sands and crystal clear sea a mere 5-10 min walk from our door.  Head further up the beach to reach the town of Amble.

Beadnell Bay, Bamburgh & Embleton Bay are all award-winning beaches that are well worth a visit.
